Managed DeskPRO Domain and Mail Options
There are a number of options regarding your domain and email options for use with Managed DeskPRO:
- username.corphelp.com
Every account on the Managed DeskPRO system will have an account of the form username.corphelp.com. You will be able to create mail accounts of the form name@username.corphelp.com.
- external POP3 accounts
Managed DeskPRO can also access external POP3 accounts. If you have www.company.com on your own servers you can enter POP3 account details into the Managed DeskPRO control panel and read mail, for example support@company.com without changing any other aspect of your current hosting setup.
- companysupport.com
Some companies choose to purchase a separate domain to run their helpdesk on. A typical example would be companysupport.com. You would simply set the DNS for the domain to our nameservers. You can then use companysupport.com for the web side of the helpdesk and anything@companysupport.com for email.
- subdomain.company.com
Some companies choose to forward a subdomain of their main domain, e.g. subdomain.domain.com to our servers. This will require some direct DNS edits that would need to be performed by your hosting administrators. MX records can also be set so that name@subdomain.domain.com is also forwarded or alternatively we can connect to your mail server to access this mail.
All of these options can be managed after you have purchased DeskPRO. We suggest that for most customers you setup DeskPRO using username.corphelp.com and accessing POP3 accounts either from your own server or in the form of name@username.corphelp.com. Once you are happy with the setup we can very easily add subdomain or domain options.
There is no extra charge for using your own domain.
